Well my car’s gone into the shop today for a bit of repair. The positive battery terminal corroded to the point that it was no longer able to clamp on the post. It wasn’t a simple repair as its not a normal clamping terminal, and I don’t want to take apart a wiring harness and possibly make things worse (Electical systems in cars…I just don’t really like mucking with)so it went to to the mechanics I trust. Always need to have a mechanic you trust. Thus, I had a nice heavy car that wouldn’t start.

Luckily enough like my parents I keep AAA around for just such a situation. It was a simple call to them and out came the tow truck to take me to the auto mechanics. instead of the 150 + cost it would be otherwise to get towed down the road for 10 miles or so.

It also made me realize, that you really do put a lot of trust in the people who tow your car, as they could very easily wander off with it and you’ll never see it again. I can say that I’ve never had that happen but the possibility popped into my mind as I was looking at my poor baby being hauled onto the back of the flatbed. Hoping to get off fairly light on the cost, but I still need to get new tires on her. The joys of auto ownership.

Luckily I only have 7 more months til my insurance drops quite a bit so. That will make my wallet much happier with me, and I can start taking that extra money and putting it to use in other things.
