There’s a new version of this great little app out. Until its in the portage tree you can get the ebuild here

I have also started to act as a mirror for gentopia found here. If you don’t know what gentopia is, its aim is to make the user experience under linux with devices pratically painless. Check it out, and either grab the builds from the official source or the mirror i have here + a few random ebuilds I toss in.
